Waiting
Standing alone in the middle of nowhere
With Darkness all around.
Oh, what was it there?
A tic-tac sound?
(in my head)
A clapping of shoes, hopefully?
Still alone and no one's near
And you bet, yes, you know,
Hard it is to describe this fear
When all your thoughts just flow.
(in my head)
Is she coming?
The darkness nearly got me,
My legs can bear me no more.
I'm falling, oh thee!
Don't you save me from my sore?
(in my head)
The light won't come.
But look, hey, what is it?
A flash strikes my eye!
The feeling, I admit,
is great just calling: "Hi!"
(this is real!)
So you came, lovely light.
